Key Regulations & Requirements

Since the City of Snohomish maintains a permanent log of property history, we perform a thorough records check to secure your eligibility before any work begins.

Tree Removal Permits: A permit is required for removing any significant tree. For standard residential lots that aren't being subdivided, the process is streamlined, but documentation is still mandatory.

Heritage Trees: Snohomish has a Heritage Tree Program for trees of "unique importance" due to age, size, or historical significance. These trees have the highest level of protection and require specialized City Council-level approval for removal.

Replacement Rule: If your removal exceeds the 5-year allowance or puts your lot below minimum density, you must replant. Replacement trees must be a minimum of 6 feet tall for evergreens or 2-inch caliper for deciduous trees

Hazardous Trees: Dead, dying, or diseased trees can be removed via a "Hazard Tree" declaration. We provide the Arborist Report needed to prove the hazard so these trees don't count against your 5-year removal limit.

Schedule your free estimate with our arborists today. We’ll evaluate your trees, answer your questions, and provide a clear plan. (425)-800-7673
